    Good antenna

Posted by John on Jan 27th 2021

I just bought this antenna to replace my current one. This one definitely picked up more channels (about 15+) and seems to be clearer than previous one I had. I'd recommend.

I live in an area where tv service usually requires cable, but I wanted to cut the cord. I get several regional channels clearly. I will be recommending this antenna!

    Leaf 50 antenna

Posted by JonBull on Oct 24th 2020

This antenna did not work for me because it was too sensitive to variable weather conditions. The antenna was in my attic about 25 feet above ground (my house is set in a wooded area but not in a dip or valley.) On calm, clear days I could get good reception from broadcast masts about 15-25 miles away, but any time the weather was windy or there was precipitation, I would usually get a lot of pixelation/picture breakup/intermittent loss of audio. I tried repositioning the antenna a couple of times and using a more powerful preamp, but these did not fix the problem. I also consulted with Mohu, who were helpful and did not BS me. Problem was solved by using an attic array antenna (EZ-HD).

I thought I wrote a review, but I can't find it. Anyways back in 2010, I was looking for a convenient antenna that I could carry with me where ever I go. My father saw this article in the RAFU SHIMPO, it was about this Mud Flap that the US Military was using that a Company called MOHU. This cought my interest. So I started to do some research. I figured, if our US Military was using it on their vehicles, I had no reason not to believe in the antenna, it's been tested and gone through a very rigorous Military trail. That told me that I didn't have to look no further. Now all I had to do is choose which one. The LEAF 30 would have been sufficient, but I always believe, what if,"I have a hillside, a big Warehouse blocking Mt Wilson, if I was in a deep valley, way out in TUSTIN, San Bernardino. The best choice would be LEAF 50 AMPLIFIED. I've used it all these years and I had to pack it away for a few years. Now I once again need my LEAF 50, but I think the AMPLIFIER isn't working, because I'm having trouble picking up ch. 7.1 through ch 13.4, ch 2.1 through ch 5.4, depending on the time of day and the surrounding traffic, I have to reposition my antenna. With these certain factors, it looks like it's time to upgrade to a newer antenna that will receive the signals I need. I look at it this way, that I know of at least 10 years, Mohu has never failed me and if the US Military is still using this Company. You can't go wrong, it's just picking the right antenna for your needs and if you pick one that's a little over kill, that's just to your advantage. You Never Know.

    Mini Leaf fifty

Does not work as advertised. Recently moved to new apartment that is a semi basement (large daylight windows, above ground). Had a cheaper off brand that worked in my previous apt but since that one was on an upper level I thought I would get a better antenna, but this one doesn't work any better that my old one did. I did try the old one when I first moved in. I am about 16 - 20 miles from all towers and should get about 27 channels (that's what I got before I moved) but only get 4 - 8 and some of them can be problematic. I only moved about 8 blocks so should not have this problem. So beware of you are not on an upper floor or if your wall/windows don't face the right direction IT. WILL. NOT. WORK. Feel like I just wasted $50.00+ on nothing, my old cheep one worked just as good.

    ?kpretty good antenna. 4.5 stars

Posted by Joey Thompson on Jul 4th 2020

So i have been dealing with digitized picture of OTA channels. Now for almost 3 years. And this is my. 3rd and hoping the final ota tv antenna. I had 2 T**k amplified antennas prior to my decision to buy the Mohu 50. Which i had originally come across on amazon. Like most things anymore on amazon sadly. I source the mfg website and buy direct. I bought the mohu 50. On 7/2/20. And it was just delivered an hour or so ago. And i already have it hooked up and installed/mounted. I cant say i gained any extra channels with having the mohu hooked up. I did get all the channels i had. With what seems to be a somewhat more stable reception. I havent checked. Channel signal strength yet. I still am experiencing, intermitent digitization of channels. Im pretty sure its due to cell phone signal, and tje obvious issue that is most likely the main culprit. The location of my apartment im a ground level apartment, my south wall of the apt is at the base of a steep hill that is probably 100ft tall or more. With trees on said hill at heights of 40 or so ft. And im in a natural low lying valley. All my local channels signals are lessthan 15miles. From me. I wasnt sure what the big difference between the leaf 50 and the leaf plus, except the original msrp. And then if the leaf plus. Would of been a better choice. Looks like ill be investing in a channel master lte filter. In hopez to eliminate the digitizing picture. I willsay that the packaging was proper, arrivved faster than expected, assembly and install was straightforward and results were as expected, or a bit of an improvement from.before.

Purchased this for my Dad. I was easy to install and he loved it. He now gets more channels than he did before. Would definitely recommend.
