- Ditto what Christine said. - Review by Dwayne on 4/5/13

Ditto what Christine said on her review dated 3/31/13. The ONLY issues I have are 1) I do have to point the antenna north here in Los Angeles to get a strong signal for channels 2 and 9 and 2) I do have to tack it up high on the wall to get a strong signal. But since channels 2 and 9 are both broadcast from the top of a big hill in North Hollywood, and I live in South Los Angeles, I would expect to get a better signal from a north facing antenna. And I would expect the higher I place the antenna the better the reception.
All in all, the Mohu Leaf is worth the money and I will be recommending it to my friends. - Great Product and Outstanding Service - Review by Christine on 3/31/13

Recently ordered the Leaf from the Mohu website and it arrived early! The website is informative and helped me decide that this is the product to fit my needs. I especially liked reading the other customer reviews and pictures. The Leaf arrived early and set-up was super easy. Pushpins were included and I simply tacked it on the wall and connected the wire. I referenced my TV manual to figure out the channel scan, and after that I was ready to go. The Leaf works well and I've been recommending to friends. Thank you for helping me "cut the cord" from the typical cable providers! - Absolutely Amazing! - Review by Diane Hofflander on 3/11/13

Like everyone else my cable/satellite bill was out of control. I stumbled on an ad for the Leaf and was very skeptical, but I ordered it. I was very nervous about "cutting the cable cord", but I hooked up the leaf antenna and wow! I have all of my local digital channels and then some. 42 channels that come in as clear as cable ever did! I added a couple of the most popular video streaming sites and for less than $20 a month I have everything I had with satellite. There is no going back.
I highly recommend the Mohu Leaf- it is amazing! - So very impressed - Review by N.L. on 3/7/13

I hate writing reviews, so I'll be brief. I was skeptical about this antenna, having tried one of the brand name HDTV rabbit ears products a couple of years ago. That one was just too difficult to tune in--very temperamental about placement and weather.
I've had the Leaf about a month now and I am loving it. I live just west of Winston-Salem and get the 4 primary channels (NBC, CBS, etc.) plus MeTV and PBS in addition to some 5 or 6 other things I don't care about. I don't watch sports at all, so this is just perfect for me. The picture is outstanding on all channels, especially when it's in HD. Placement was a snap. I hung it directly behind my Samsung plasma at first, but just for fun I transferred it to the interior wall to the left of the TV and, Pow!, everything snapped into place. I just love it when a reasonably priced, innovative product like this makes life better. A big Way-to-Go to the Mohu people. - Best antenna ever - Review by Sparked on 2/19/13
-
I just received the leaf antenna today and am amazed at how clear the channels are. I get all of the local channels now not just the ones that DirecTV provides. Now, I can get those channels (only ones I watch anyway) without any blackouts which DirecTV has had 2 in the last 4 months where they were haggling over the price with the local networks. The reception seems to be higher than via DirecTV and now I can cancel my DirecTV and save almost $1000 per year. - Best indoor antenna ever! - Review by Hippie Hillbilly on 2/17/13
-
I bought 2 Mohu antennas, one for each T.V.,with the hope that I could get at least a couple local channels where I live out in the country. I'm about 25 miles from the closest tower. Much to my surprise I got 10! And 8 of those are in HD! Only had to move the one in the living room once to get all the channels. Just find the ONE spot and you're done!
I've got DirecTV, but it's so expensive, and I rarely get my monies worth in the Spring and Summer when I'm outside most of the time.
Now I can deactivate it for 6 months and save $600 a year and still keep up with everything local.
This antenna is nothing short of AWESOME!
Thanks Mohu!
- Both the Leaf and Leaf Plus work well at my home in Las Vegas - Review by Jim on 2/9/13

This is a combined review of the Leaf and Leaf Plus Antenna. Last month, I ordered a Leaf from gomohu.com and earlier this month I ordered a Leaf Plus from amazon.com. I changed the locations of both antennas a few times and that did make a difference in the number of channels which I received. I have the Leaf connected to a Digital to Analog Converter Box which is connected to a Samsung 40 inch TV and the Leaf Plus is connected to four DVD Recorders. I tested the two antennas today, at the same time, by connecting both of them to separate Samsung TV’s, the 40 and a 32 inch, using identical Digital to Analog Converter Boxes. I started a new setup on both converters at the same time. The leaf found 64 channels and the leaf plus found 66 channels. Many of the channels I would probably never watch. Some are Spanish channels and some are radio channels. I checked the signal strength on several channel numbers on both converters at the same time. The signal strength on all the channel numbers was from 5 to 10 points higher on the Leaf Plus than it was on the leaf. As an example, the three local NBC channels in Las Vegas have some of the weaker signals. The signal strength fluctuates a bit and the highest on the leaf was 71 and on the Leaf Plus it was 81. The signals on the stronger channels were basically five points higher on the Leaf Plus than on the Leaf.
The reason I decided to buy the Leaf Plus was because I had the Leaf connected to four DVD Recorders and I lost the NBC Channels to all four recorders. I saw the Leaf Plus advertised and decided to order it because the signal is amplified. Basically I am satisfied with both antennas and am considering cancelling my cable TV and using local channels and Hulu Plus and Netflix to replace the cable. The cable monthly price has increased by 50 percent in the past ten years and is probably ready to increase again in the near future. An increase is usually by around 6 percent. I can save over $40 a month by cancelling the cable and subscribing to both Hulu Plus and Netflix. I could use the $40 for other things.

I couldn't be happier. I've bought a lot of antennas and boosters over the years trying to get a local T V picture to no avail. We had to get our local channels off the dish with no H D. Now we get every available local channel as clear as day. I'm probably going to buy the longer range model for up at the lake as soon as we open the cottage this spring. - Excellent Reception - Review by Jim on 2/4/13

I received my Leaf antenna and hung it up about three weeks ago. I have changed its location a few times and at one point received 67 channels. In the current location, mounted in a corner with the center pointed towards most of the local transmitters, I am receiving 65 channels. I am running it through a converter, for older TV's and have a better picture on most channels, than I have with the cable. I did have it connected to some recorders and was recording local stations, but then lost one of the major network channels, just to the recorders. I still receive that channel through the converter to my TV. I have been here for over thirty years and that one network channel has always been weak, even with the cable. I am thinking of buying a Leaf Plus, subscribing to Netlflix and cancelling my cable, the price of which goes up every year or two and is now over $61.00 a month here in Las Vegas. Less than ten years ago, when I first subscribed to the internet, my total monthly bill for both the cable and internet was less than eighty dollars a month. They increase the price every year or two and now it is over one hundred and eighteen a month, close to a fifty percent increase. I know I could use the extra fifty plus a month, and still watch the programs I normally watch, by using the combination of local channels and Netflix. - Simply the best! - Review by marcus on 2/3/13
-
As many have stated I have tried all kinds of indoor antennas. I even contructed my own. They all suffered one flaw. They needed constant adjustment after changing channels. Some channels just would not receive well. Also, those antennas are very limited as to where one can mount or sit them.
The Leaf is a whole new ball game! It is so thin I simply taped it to my window. It never needs adjustment. It pull in even the weak stations. The picture is crytal clear. My local stations are 18-25 miles away. There is no need for an amplifier. What more could I want? I cancelled my satellite subscription. Now I only rely on the Leaf, internet TV, and netflix. All this and I still save big money every month without that satellit bill droping by every thirty days. Oh yes, the picture does not cut out when it rains as with satellite. - Amazed! - Review by SuzyQ on 1/19/13
-
Just purchased the "ultimate" leaf... due to our distance from the towers. All I can say is wow! We pulled all the major networks and some locals at about 54-60 miles away. Granted, we are on the west side of a mountain and have a pretty much unobstructed view to the west..but still. The HD picture is excellent and we are very satisfied. Super easy install, anyone can do this. Excellent product that does MORE than promised! - More channels and great customer service - Review by pamelad on 1/11/13

I called Mohu customer service (1-855-446-6648) and got right through to a very nice, fun and knowledgeable representative before purchasing this antenna. I was concerned about the phrase in the Amazon description that says "TVs labeled HD ready or HDTV monitors are not considered digital ready."
My kitchen TV -- the new Leaf's companion -- is labeled "HDTV monitor." Since it's only a few months old, the rep said it should be fine. If you have the same concern, though, I'm not suggesting to ignore the Product Description but to call Mohu.
The rep even looked up my Tucson address on TVfool.com and said it's a good thing I called since I was considering purchasing the Leaf Plus Amplified. He said I didn't need to spend the extra bucks, and the amplified is for receiving signals from transmitters further from my home. "People think more is better, but that isn't necessarily so when it comes to antennas." According to him and a few other expert and user reviews I had read, amplified can actually interfere with closer tower reception. I had been to TVfool.com as well as antennaweb.org before calling, but the Mohu rep went above and beyond to help me make more sense of the specs.
I was delighted by the number of channels received (33). For comparison, that's about twice as many as my old rabbit ears HDTV antenna in the kitchen picked up. Before, I was missing the NBC affiliate, or could fiddle around and receive it at the expense of losing the CBS affiliate. This antenna receives all the major networks plus PBS, their sub-channels and a few other stations I'd not realized existed, all without adjusting the antenna position or angle.
The antenna worked right out of the box by placing it on an unobtrusive place on the wall without having to experiment with different locations. And it looks a whole lot better than the old rabbit ears.
Your mileage may vary greatly. The area towers here are located in three different directions on mountains surrounding the city, and my house is in the valley in the greater metro area with the towers four to 22 miles away by air. You might need to experiment with placement, but I didn't at all. I just put it on the wall where it was unobtrusive and am quite sure I'm getting all over-the-air signals, including HD, available in the area.
Be sure to take a minute to read the quick Get Started insert. Four easy steps.
We cut the cable a long time ago and have even less justification for cable now with the Paper Thin Leaf. I refuse to pay for cable and deal with their price-gouging and lousy customer service.
I'm wowed by this antenna. It even picks up more channels than our supposedly digital-ready rooftop antenna connected to the main TV. I don't know if that's due to the respective locations of the antennas and TVs, or if it's because of the great technology and design of the Paper Thin Leaf. One thing I'm sure of is that it beats the old rabbit ears HDTV antenna, since it's in the same location with the same TV. - The Best Antenna Ever - Review by Terrell Jones on 1/10/13

I bought a leaf antenna for my Grandmother and hooked it up to the Mohu Jolt. What a great combination! Every channel came in as clear as a bell. I wouldn't recommend anything else. - I wish I would've found the Leaf a long time ago! - Review by AdamB on 1/10/13

I hooked the Leaf up and went from around 30 channels to 50! I've never had much luck getting Fox here in Seattle, and it now comes in perfectly. My old Radio Shack antenna would also often provide low signal causing frequent drop outs. The Leaf provides a great and solid signal. Can't recommend this antenna enough! Just popping back onto this sight to buy another antenna! I love it! I was surprised at how well it works. No hype behind this product.... - a must in every disaster - Review by Life saver on 11/19/12

I just went through one of the worst experiences of my life. Hurricane Sandy arrived on October 29th. The wind wasn't bad but the surge filled up my basement with water and took out my electric. The entire coast line was a disaster. I fired up the generator on the front porch and ran extension cords to power up the kitchen. I disconnected the cable and connected my Mohu antenna and was able to see the aftermath of the storm and see all the devastation that people were going through. I realized at the time how fortunate we were because of that little antenna and was able to share information with my neighbors. I highly recommend your product to everybody. Thank you for an affordable superior product. - Works great - Review by Miles on 11/9/12

Bought this several months ago just out of curiosity and maybe to hook to a spare t.v. Then came Hurricane Sandy and the 'Leaf' took on a whole new level of importance.
Fios was out - TV running via generator.
Connected the Leaf - did a 'digital' channel search
and was watching news in no time !
It wont get every single channel - and proximity to broadcast source seems to affect it of course .. but you get enough to keep you occupied !
It came up with about 27 channels fo rme - we live 10 miles from NYC so I assume this is 'best case' but this is definatley a must have for a few reasons.. One including emergencies !
Highly recommend this product !!

I haven't bought the leaf plus yet, but Karina from Mohu was very helpful in helping me chose the right antenna for my location. She even did the fool/tv analysis for me and told me the best location to place the antenna for me, it was east facing. I plan to order the leaf plus with the extention cable soon.
Thank you Karina for being knowledgable and friendly. - All those good reviews are true! - Review by Notskepticalanymore on 9/24/12

I was a little skeptical but nopeful when i ordered it a few weeks ago. When i hooked it up to my tv, it pulled in twice the number of channels compared to my giant ugly 4 bay antenna, even in the basement!
I went ahead and got another one for the main floor. - Get The Stand - Review by Buckeye on 8/12/12
-
Got the stand and now am able to accurately aim the basic mohu panel which gave us 5 "green" identified channels ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and PBS with their secondary and tertiary channels plus a bonus channel and its secondary that are outside the green but come in fine. Recommend you have a small weight to anchor the stand and allow you to aim the panel, we had a book case to put it onto and that did the trick. Neat prouduct, I'd like to see a heavy duty unit for the attic with splitter for multiple set use or maybe an external unit for our old tower. - Two thumbs up - Review by Kathy on 8/5/12
-
I am now receiving almost all locally broadcast channels, whereas before I was only receiving a few very well, some sporadically, and the ABC affiliate not at all. I went from 4 channels to 19. I do have to reposition it to receive one channel, but that is nothing compared to readjusting the rabbit ears each time I switched stations. I recommend the Mohu antenna and have referred a couple of people already. - I'm here because of one great review - Review by OTT on 8/5/12

I love reading Home Theater magazine, and on page 18 of the September 2012 issue is a HOT review on the Leaf indoor HDTV Antenna. Five stars for value, four and 3/4 stars for performance and Features gets four stars. If you know Home Theater magazine, you know they don't toss accolades like grannies might toss popcorn to the pigeons. If they say it is great, its because they tested it and found it to be so.

Like others, I thought this product was a hoax, but found that it actually works perfectly well in our hilly area, where we were unable to get a signal from the local station. We are in a remote location, so I don't know what it would be like in a city, but we are now able to get our local station perfectly clearly! Thanks. - Not shabby at all! - Review by Satisfied in IL on 7/12/12

Mine delivered today. the hook up is easy...tape it to the wall until you find the sweet spot for your channels. Keep scanning your TV and move the antenna a little each time if you have to. But I got about 20 channels on the 3rd scan and the clarity is awesome. I wouldn't know it was from an antenna...it's giving me the same satellite quality!
I get to cancel my DirecTV at the end of the month and can't wait! - Fresh Air - Review by CraigKS on 7/11/12

This antenna is like a breath of fresh air! It took a little repositioning to find the best location then it performed as advertised. I recently purchased a Mohu after much research and with a little disbelief. I was told by a local Radio Shack that has been selling antennas for over 35 years that I would receive no signal without a 12' antenna in my back yard. I received my Mohu opened the box and was convinced that I just bought into a new scam. I hooked up the antenna and scanned for channels. To my surprise I picked up 10 channels all of which were crystal clear. The following morning I woke to torrential rain which had knocked out our Dish TV as it always does. I switched the TV input to antenna and was able to watch my morning news uninterrupted. I will be canceling my Dish and buying a Roku to fill in my TV viewing gaps, and save $1,200+ a year. My mother got the Mohu-Leaf antenna for a spare room TV. After extensive research she bought the Leaf, and it worked perfectly.Capturing more channels than before with no real interference or signal searches. Can't believe how something so thin and easy works so well.
I was so impressed when a I was staying with a friend who does not have cable at all - so full time atenna TV. She was constantly having to get up and re-adjust her antenna when her dogs would walk by or someone changed their position on the couch or to get different channels and even then it would cut in and out.
I bought her the Leaf and we put it in a nearby window and no more problems. She got two more movie channels she didn't have before, along with all sorts of others. No interference or choppy picture no matter who walks in front of it. The picture looks better too. There are very rare signal searches and after a week we have NOT had to move the Leaf antenna even once. So impressed! Got it on Father's Day special to boot. So I highly recommend it. - very pleased - Review by N/A on 6/27/12

I guess it depends on where you are and the signal strength of the various channels, but we were able to obtain a local channel so that we can keep up with weather and news.......and the Olympics! It is a crisp, clear HD reception. I love that it is so easy to install - we had it going in a few minutes. The flexibility on where you can mount this device is phenomenal. You can even put it behind a picture. We have it behind our draperies. No one knows it's there. It has given us exactly what we were looking for. And fast!?!? After reading countles reviews on many different kinds of antennas, I decided to buy this unit and came straight to this website and got a better deal. Then when it came in the mail it was VERY EASY to hook up to TV. I live 30+ miles outside of Raleigh, NC and right off I was able to pick up 28 local channels and they all come in very clear. Already had a basic antenna and was displeased with how sensitive the signal was especially if I had a breeze coming through the window or a fan running. I just got it today, and I was AMAZED after I installed it! I used to use cable as air antenna until, it was no longer possible. I then bought an Amplified Antenna. I thought my TV sucks before I used the LEAF Antenna. I wasn't getting as good quality pictures with the Cable and the Amplified Antenna. But after installing the Leaf Indoor HDTV Antenna, my TV for the first time - it looks GREAT (that is the reception pictures) - so, that's what HDTV should look like. What's more, the Leaf Antenna doesn't need electrical power as the Amplified Antenna that I got. That will sure save money on electricity. The Leaf antenna is just on top on my TV laying down. I place it on my top of my TV as I installed the cable, and saw I was getting a 100 % reception even just laying on top of my TV. I not going to need to hang it, as I see it. I'm not sure about others, but it might work the same way else, other might need to hang it as recommended. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Leaf Indoor HDTV Antenna.
